Barrel Connector Concentricity

Hello, this was for an interview question and I couldn’t hack it.

Picture an enclosure with input and output terminals and there are 3 barrel connectors. Explain how we make the barrels concentric and ensure robust hardware assembly between the board with the connectors and the enclosure. Forget gd&t, since there will always be variation, we want a perfect fit. What are some of the aspects of aligning the holes and maintaining the concentricity requirement?

Im not sure either what the answer is but I like to take a stab at this. I would probably ask if we can change the sizes of the holes, can we add additional alignment features like screws, washers, slots, and pins. I would also wonder if there are other elements in the casing that would interfere with alignment.

I think when I want to align something I don’t know of I add some pins or screws with slot holes to help align it. Or have additional tirm around it to make it more flush with the surface and align it before screwing it down or let it free floating. But would also like to know the solution for this.
