Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Material’s strength divided by its density
The strength-to-weight ratio of a material can be defined by the Yield Strength (maximum stress before plastic deformation) over density (mass/volume). Aluminum typically for most alloys have a greater strength-to-weight ratio as they are much less dense than steel while offering relatively strong strength.
